Pillars include Integrated Health Services, Education and International Program. Shifts will be rostered across each of the areas.In Integrated Health Services the RN will provide reproductive and sexual health consultations either in person or by telephone. RNs may be scheduled to work in clinic environment, telephone information and referral line or day surgery. All RNs are expected to develop skills in clinical instruction and implant and IUD insertion and removal (as part of their clinical role.In Education Services, the RN will contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical and multidisciplinary courses, workshops and seminars. Content delivery may be ‘face to face’, via webinar or recorded webcast. This is for both Family Planning NSW clinical staff and external course participants.In the International Programme, the RN will support the implementation of international projects, focused on increasing access to quality reproductive and sexual health services in the Pacific region. This is achieved through capacity development of partner organisations to provide high quality family planning services including cervical cancer, contraception and comprehensive sexuality education.It is expected that the Registered Nurse will be required to work some weekends and after-hours as part of course delivery, both in NSW and specified Pacific countries. The Registered Nurse will provide education and practical support, not direct service provision in the Pacific.Selection CriteriaEssential (including qualifications)Primary nursing degree with current AHPRA registration and no conditions or notationsMinimum 2 years post graduate experience which may include clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health, clinical education, or international developmentHigh level of cross cultural knowledge and awarenessExperience working with FPNSW’s defined priority populations - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse people Well-developed communication skills including online and interpersonal negotiating and relationship building skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise electronic medical record systems, and varied computer programs such as Microsoft OfficeFull Australian drivers licence and the ability to travel within NSW and to the Pacific region (travel restrictions permitting)Desirable or willingness to obtainPost graduate qualification in reproductive and sexual health nursing (RSH-CAP or equivalent)Willingness to develop skills in LARC insertion and removal (implant and IUD)Experience in perioperative nursing, telephone triage, clinical instruction, adult education and/or clinical researchTertiary qualifications in adult education, midwifery, public health or international developmentExperience in the planning and delivery of clinical educationUnderstanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies, curriculum development and evaluation processesExperience in the planning, development, delivery and support of education programs, including online coursesValuesFPNSW is a pro-choice organisationStaff are expected to fully support an individual’s right to choose regarding their pregnancy, whether that be parenting, adoption/foster care or abortion As an abortion service provider, all staff at FPNSW are expected to actively participate in the provision of abortion services within the full scope of their role.
